Private YS Falls Tours Jamaica

YS Falls, The Other Side of Jamaica
YS Falls opened in 1992. It is a nature-based attraction offering the opportunity to experience the beauty of the waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees. There are seven waterfalls, several which cascade into natural pools. Some areas are fairly rocky and river shoes are recommended. Lifeguards on site, indicate which areas are for swimming, however, being able to swim is a requirement. There is a natural pool, fed by underground and above ground springs, which is more suitable for children and others unable to swim.
YS Water Falls is one of the many in Jamaica. Located on the southern side of Jamaica, it is truly a national treasure. The scenic and unique characteristics ranks the YS Falls among the best on the island. This beautiful sequence of waterfalls is lined with picnic areas ideally used for romantic outings and family picnics.
The YS Falls was discovered in 1684, and sits on over 1000 acre of beautiful farm land, the attraction is truly one of nature’s delightful gift to Jamaica. How the YS Falls got its name comes from many folk tales, however, the most popular is that the name comes from the initials of previous owners of the plantation, John Yates and Lt. Col. Richard Scott; the first letter of the surname of each owner. The water falls is located deep inside the farm about 10 minutes ride from the reception area where admission tickets are sold. Keeping it true to a farm setting, visitors are transported on farm tractors to the falls and are also transported by farm tractors on the return as well.
The YS Falls offers a complete recreational package, if you are adventurous, there are swings for rope jumping into the deeper pools, if not, enjoy bathing in the natural pools of mountain spring waters, create by our rich limestone collection. Alternatively, visitors can walk alongside the falls and enjoy its natural exotic plants in the surrounding naturally formed gardens. Combining one or two other activities with a tout to YS Fall is a great idea, in this way you get the opportunity to enjoy a full day of fun and activities on the SOUTHERN Coast of Jamaica; this is added value for your money. The Appleton Estate Rum Tour or Floyd’s Pelican Bar are great combo options ; they are both located in close proximity and could very well be worth your while. If you are more adventurous you could also consider sunset in Negril as well.
